2009 Committee

The club AGM was held at the last meeting, Wednesday 19 November, 2008 and was well attended.

The Treasurer's report was presented by Steff Foster. The Club is in a sound financial position at the end of 2008 with a relatively healthy bank balance.

The President, Greg Eyre, gave a rather lengthy report as he outlined the activities, changes and progress made during the last year. Amongst the highlights for 2008 were:
  • Change of the Club name
  • Integration of monthly EDI Competition to compliment the Print Competitions
  • Canoe Tour Down Under - River Murray by canoe.
  • Bugaree Station - Photographic weekend in the Clare Valley
  • Mystery Tour - Historic Adelaide Hills.
  • Introduction of the Club Blog
  • Guest Speakers Caroline Fisher and Craig Ingram
  • Introduction of the "Blue Sky Thinking" sessions
  • ACC v PCC Interclub - congrats to ACC for their 3 point win.
  • Various workshops and AV/slide show presentations by club members
  • Photographic endeavours of individual club members including Kelly Turnbull's exhibition as part of her yr 12 studies

Greg stepped down as President and did not stand for re-election. He is off to Tassie in the new year - a change of pace and some new challenges. A rather large gap to fill for the new President as Greg has been our "Fearless Leader' for the past five years and lead the club through many challenges and changes. The club members wish Greg a hearty fair well and best wishes for his new venture. Greg did promise to return from time to time and continue as an external member of the club and many have likewise promised to come visit with him. :)

It would be incorrect to say the election of a new committee went without a hitch but in the end all offices of the Club were filled and many newer members stepped up to fill spots left by retiring current committee members.

The 2009 Committee are:

President:
Alberto Giurelli

Vice President:
Neil Gray

Secretary:
Eddie Verhoef

Treasurer:
Kath Mathews

Competition Secretary:
Neil Gray

General Committee Member:
Heather Horsnell
Gary Campbell
Kelly Turnbull

Congratulations to all. It is good to know that the Club is in good hands and the general membership look forward to an exciting and challenging year for 2009.

The programme for 2009 with competitions, workshops and activites was outlined and the usual good hearted discussion around the set subject definitions ensued. Take a look at the programme page with definitions and get a head start with your camera over the Christmas break....

Happy Snapping

Please note:
Eddie Verheof has since resigned as Secretary and Heather Horsnell has taken his place
